Aside from skiing, February certainly isn’t known for being one of the best months to be living in Colorado.  However, we were able to dig up some great activities for this month.  Here are 5 things to do in Colorado in February 2017.

Bubbles and Oysters at Infinite Monkey Theorem (February 11th)

Spur Experiences is proud to have Infinite Monkey Theorem as one of our experience partners.  IMT is hosting this event on Valentine's Day weekend.  Oysters are $2 each and IMT bubbles are $45/bottle.

Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival (February 8th - 12th)

This is the 104th annual Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival.  This features wild events throughout the center of town on Lincoln Avenue.  One of the events involves adults sitting on shovels and being pulled down main street behind horses.  Steamboat has so much great western tradition and the Winter Carnival showcases this perfectly.

Telluride Comedy Festival (February 16th - 19th)

This is the 18th annual festival.  Telluride is beyond beautiful anytime of the year, but the great thing about this festival is that it happens right in the middle of ski season.  Ski during the day and laugh at some great comic routines at night.  The festival maintains a local feel while providing nationally-known comedians.

Polar Bear Plunge (Various Dates and Locations)

One of Spur Experiences's charity partners is Special Olympics Colorado.  Special Olympics raises money through their series of Polar Bear Plunges.  Basically, you jump into freezing cold water for a great cause.  This was the original ice bucket challenge.  The signature event is the Splash & Dash.  This year the Splash & Dash will be hosted at the Denver Zoo, while the 5K race/walk will take place at Denver's City Park. Participants have the option to plunge into a pool filled with freezing cold water, run/walk in a 5K...or better yet, do both!
