July is a very hot month in Colorado (for more than one reason).  July is packed with events, parties, festivals… any excuse to celebrate life.  Here are 5 Things to Do in Colorado in July 2016:

Colorado Rapids 4th of July Game and Fireworks (July 4th at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park)

If you’ve already checked out some of the other great fireworks shows in Denver, consider heading out for a soccer game and a great holiday celebration. What’s even better is that the Colorado Rapids are off to a hot start, leading the Western Conference after 14 games played.

Steamboat Springs Hot Air Balloon Rodeo (July 9-10)

2016 marks the 35th installment of this annual event. The morning sky is filled with hot air balloons. The rodeo part is pretty cool too… it includes contests such as dipping the balloons down into Bald Eagle Lake. The Art in the Park festival happens at the same time, making this one of the best weekends of the year in the ‘Boat.

Crested Butte Wine and Food Festival (July 23rd through 26th)

Foodies and wine lovers meet in the beautiful town of Crested Butte for a weekend that showcases hors d’oevres and 250 wins from around the world. The event includes demonstrations by world class chefs and a series of wine seminars.

Underground Music Showcase in Denver (July 28th through 31st on South Broadway)

This event is massive… 400 performances at 20+ venues over four days. It is the biggest independent music festival in the Rocky Mountain region.

Colorado Dragon Boat Festival at Sloan’s Lake (July 30-31)

The Colorado Dragon Boat Festival is growing very quickly. Last year, over 125,000 people attended. It now includes a film festival. This event celebrates Asian culture while cheering on some exciting boat races.
